I want to first thank Hollyland for sending me a demo of the Hollyland Mars 300 to review. Check it out:
My thoughts:
- Budget Friendly Option
- Easy to setup
- Light weight
- No SDI (on more expensive options)
- Latency
I think the Hollyland Mars 300 is a great solution for filmmakers on a budget that want a wireless solution for a director’s viewfinder. I did get a range of 300 feet line of sight when I tested it. The system works really well and for the price it’s a great option. The latency for me is an issue being that I’ve been on the other end of a wireless follow focus. Having any delay introduces issues with missed opportunities on getting the shot in focus at the right time. Overall, I definitely can see using the Hollyland Mars in my productions in sending a signal to video village.
