I love using the SpyderCHECKR. In light of Davinci Resolve 12 coming out, I thought this post would help a lot of you that may not have much experience with color correction. One of my jobs before I went to film school was actually a film processor for Wolf Camera. I would process film for photographers and color correct as needed. That gave me hands on experience and a great understanding of color correction.
However, that was years ago, and there are tools now that make color correcting in your NLE of choice very easy. I’ve been using the DataColor SpyderCheckr for about a year now and it’s helped save so much time, and giving me color accuracy when I use it.
